Stong trip Just got back home from Dabong yesterday morning. It was a great experience that I would never forget. No words can describe the fun that I had there. The team that I went with was great. We were working together and supporting one another, pushing and motivating one another. (Even though there was a few or maybe alot of miss communication :P) 1st day early in the morning we reached at Dabong 7am. Less than 5 mins walk to uncle(the guide who brought us) house. We were invited in by his daughter and wife, they were really friendly. Had noodle cooked by his wife. After filling our empty stomach it was time for our first adventure to begin. We went caving for about 4 hours(i think) and Uncle told us everything he knew about the cave and all the different things you can find in there. There were also bats :) We visited 3 different cave and then head back to town to have lunch and got ready to visit Baha campsite(our first night). It took us about 2 and a half hours to reach the Baha campsite and I had to admit that I was getting really tired and the motivation from my team I refused to gave up and kept on going :) Finally we reach the campsite and the view was lovely. It is not easy to describe it in words, you have to go there to see it yourself. The next day hike for 9 hours and we conquered Mount Baha and Mout Ayam :) We spent the night at Mout Ayam. As the sun set down the temperature gets colder and the next morning it was so cold that even a jacket could not keep me warm. Had breakfast and continue our trek to Gunung Stong (our main aim!!!!) Reach the summit of Stong almost 1pm. Had our lunch there with the company of squirrels. Uncle was able to communicate with the squirrels and somehow it understand what uncle was saying (cute rite?) From the summit of Stong you could see the mountains around it, the view was beautiful :D At 2pm we had to trek down as we will be spending our night at Baha campsite. We reached Baha campsite just in time before there was no more light. We were went down really2 fast almost running to reach Baha campsite before darkness came. Uncle was laughing behind us as he could not believe how fast we could actually walk. Next morning we woke up pretty late as all of us were really tired. But the last day was the best. We had our lunch on top of the waterfall before going in the water for a swim. The water was cold but nice :) And we get to slide down from a waterfall!!!!! My first attempt I was scared like mad, my legs and hands was shivering. My voice was shivering and Uncle was laughing at me as he could not belive that I would be that scared :/ When he finally pushed me I slide down and the feeling was like WOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha... i even when for the second time :D I CAN NEVER FORGET THAT FEELING.... After all the fun we had, sadly it was time to say Goodbye to Baha campsite :( We trek down for an hour down and went back to uncle house to have dinner. We had so much food for dinner :D I had to admit that the last day was the saddest moment as it is time to say Goodbye :'( Uncle family was really2 nice and friendly so it is not easy to say goodbye to them. When I bored the train to head back to Singapore I felt that I had left something behind and that is LOVE. I felt in love with Uncle family and the Mountains that I conquered for 4days :'( One day I shall come back and re-visit my memories and the good times. Missing off, Panic89 |
